On the adoption front...not too much to report (but we know that doesn't mean nothing's happening)! We continue to wait and pray for them. Remember, we're considered December. The clocks now read...
TWO CHILDREN: October
So, after over a 2 month drought with no movement the girl clock finally moved ahead! This is the first time in CWA history that girls have been moving faster than boys. Honestly, we're very weary in waiting. But, a little bit of movement gives us a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel.
We were able to make contact with missionary friends who live in Ethiopia who are friends with our adoption case worker. We will defnitely be able to hook up with this family when we go over. They actually drive past our adoption agency's care center everyday...pretty cool! We're really looking forward to learning more about their ministry while there. They adopted a little girl from Ethiopia several years ago and encouraged us in the wait saying "it was all a blur and so worth it on this side of things." Somedays I find that hard to be true and being reminded of that by someone who's walked through it was very encouraging! Now for some recent pictures...
We were pretty excited to be on a plane actually headed to Peru, considering we had to take a detour to CHILE! Long story, lol:).
Somehow being above the clouds I felt closer to our little ones. Hopefully next time in the air we'll be on our way to hold them in our arms!
A welcome service they had at the Shipibo church. These women did beautiful dancing and singing for us.
This is their church from the outside. Lovely people.
We had lots of these furry guys in the house we stayed in, known by the natives as Tarantula Town.
We got these little hats for our kiddos. Maybe we'll bring them home in winter!
Remember the myrtle tree we planted for them....this was what it looked like Easter morning...now...
I can only hope that this is an image of what God's done and is doing in this time through us, for HIS kingdom...beauty from the ashes!
"Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the Lord's renown, for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed." Isaiah 55:13
