Headed to the Jungle!

Not much news on the adoption front. Things continue to move, and hopefully the clocks will move ahead soon! They currently read...
Girls:August
Boys:August
2 Children:October
We are considered a December family. When we do receive our referral (photos and information on the children), we will make our first trip 2-3 months after referral. Our second trip will then be about 6-8 weeks after that. We're really hoping that maybe we'll be able to travel at least once before the new year! It's been really encouraging to watch some other adoptive families we've gotten to know these past few months receive referrals, court dates, and continue moving ahead in the proccess.

In other news we are heading to Peru tomorrow morning with 15 other people from our church! We will be working with churches in Lima, the Shipibo indians in Pucallpa Peru, doing work projects, children's ministry, dances, dramas, teaching, health clinic, eye glasses clinic, and more. We are greatly anticipating partnering in kingdom work with the people of Peru. The foreign mission field is really where God started opening both of our eyes to adoption. What a gift it will be on this wearisome journey to take this time to serve children. Our children are not here yet, but God certainly has many in need of His love and the gospel. God's been teaching us so much about His true biblical gospel and we want to do whatever it takes to be a part of that. A friend of mine recently gave me this quote. I don't think anything says it much better for where we're at these days...

"The place that God calls us is that place where the world's deep hunger and our deepest desire meet." Frederick Buechner
